Week 9 - Creating trees

After seeing the client he was really pleased by the way the
environment is going. He wanted more variety of trees on the site although with
time limit and space on the real time environment this was hard to do. The goal
was to make variety of 2D trees which require very little space in the
environment which will be helpful for the speed during walk through. The trees
were created using Photoshop. This involves using alpha channel to make the trees
have that define outline in the environment. Playing around with the tools such
as gradient blur to wash out the background helps it to look more natural in
the game. The image is saved using Crytiff. The 2D planes were created using
3DSmax and the image were exported using crytiff shader. Settings the materials
right is important as this may affect the exporter.
Using the research from the past weeks I’ve chosen 2 trees
that are scattered around Katoomba. She-oak and large ferns.

Week 8 - Final Detailing Of Environment
Week 7 : Detailing Environment

Detailing
This week the final land was
created with terrain like feature as to Blue Mountains. My role was to detail
the Land where initial contact of the character is going to take place. This is
located where the blue line is made in the middle of the land, where the
ropeway will be placed and the towers that were created. The goal for this week
is finalize the environment and to capture the intricate scene of photographs
taken at the scenic tour.
